I still have to go break the barrel in, I have the J-B Bore Paste, I just need to hit the range and do the break in and get it sighted in. The nikon scope is pretty sweet.

Nice rig. What are the specs on the scope you mounted?

.223 is a great cartridge for varmints. Short and medium range shots are the calling card of this round. Anything beyond 200 yards I find it hard to dope the wind. Back in the day, I liked a 22-250 to push out beyond that. The semi auto feature looks like it would add a lot of fun to the "plinking" experience.

.22 centerfire rounds are awesome. I think the fascination with these guns is the speed and accuracy with which they can launch a 50-55 grain pill.

Can you dismount the scope and use open sights easily with this? That might be a nice feature to have available for "varmints" in the 2-100 yard range.

Nice looking addition to the collection!!!

Few question if ya don't mind.

Whats the power on the scope???

What kind of Scope rings are those???

Do you get decent eye releif???

Not long ago, I picked up another AR (Bushy M4A3) and I want to set it up as a Varmint type rifle... Still looking at complete Upper/Barrel set ups.... Thinking of going Night Force on the scope as I'm really happy with my other one....

It is a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44SF with the BDC reticle.

So far from playing around with it it appears to be a very nice scope, I have not made the trip to the range yet, but it's pretty easy to deal with, came with the sunshade and 2 extra sets of turrets.

The scope rings are leupold, it actually came with picatinny risers that you were supposed to use with regular rings, but I didn't see the point so I bought the High rings, ended up at the same height and didn't need the risers. I kind of got screwed on the rings, I ordered direct from Bushmaster thinking I would get the ones "made for the gun" and the leupold rings showed up, so I paid more for them then I should have (you can buy the leupold rings pretty much everywhere).

It has four inches of constant, non-critical eye relief and no you can't easily remove the scope and go to iron sites, with the see through rings I guess you could rig something up where you would see through them.
